Cookies

 I do not have the whole recipe for those cookies, I received as a present this beautiful jar and was told to add: 250g of butter, 2 eggs and vanilla :)

 

They were just delicious! Thanks again many many times Steph!

Candles and sea-shells

At the beginning of the summer we went to the sea-side in France. We had a fantastic time there and collected a large amount of sea-shells. 

 I am planning on using them for making jewels or small decorations. But first I made a small souvenir jar:

 And then I experimented and made candles:

 I removed the wax from a tea light and melted it.

 At first I was planning to do this with my 3yo, but I have decided against it. Manipulating hot wax is too delicate and has too much risks for now.

 I will post later when I know when I get on with the rest ;)

Doll bibs

For her birthday N. got a highchair for her dolls. It is now standing next to her toy kitchen. But the dolls also needed protection, they might have made stains on their clothes while eating ;) 

So I made some bibs:

A hand-made dress

Crafting runs in the family! I am now 100% sure of it ^^ - for N.'s birthday my sister, her Godmother, M., made her a dress entirely by hand. No sewing-machine involved, "just" a few days of hard work for an amazing result!

N. LOVES that dress, she is always asking to wear it. 

 M. completed the outfit with a white lace sunshade and a pair of sweet white net gloves!

Labels

I've decided to label the drawers of my children's wardrobe, as well as their toys boxes. It helps them tidying their toys as well as finding what they want to play with. They are proud when I send them to pick out their clothes by themselves. I hope to encourage them to be a little more independent. So far it seems to work.

 

Open-day at the Opera

We live in a beautiful german town: Dresden. It has many advantage: beautiful buildings, landscapes, many museums, great transports etc. On Sunday the 7th, the Opera (Semperoper) opened its door to visitors for free. We could visit the opera, listen to music, watch rehearsals, visit the workshops and many more things.

With T., 19mo, and N., 3yo, we didn't want to sit listening to a concert, so we chose the workshops option. A choice we did not regret! It was great! We visited where they make the decors and where the costumes are designed and sewn.

It was a very exciting visit for the children and they were both exhausted afterwards. The next day, N. did chat again about it, still remembering the pretty tutus she had seen ^^
