Welcome (back) on my blog!
The variety of handcrafts I do and experiment with is long: sewing, knitting, crocheting, painting, drawing, etc. and I like to brag about all this! So:
Let's get this blog alive again :)
If you remember end of March I posted about what Soraya from Les Facéties de Louis-Marie had sent me. I actually had forgotten to mention that she added a present for my baby boy and also a pattern for a baby hat.
Anyway, a month later I have finally managed to go to the post-office to send her a small, very small parcel, to thank her. Here is what it contained:
Soraya received her parcel yesterday, but unfortunately the ring did break - the glue holding the metal part to the bottle lid does not seem to be good enough... I need to find a better one *sigh*. Her son did adopt it as a cupcake though ^^
As promised some days ago, here are four short videos to show you how to fold the Origami box. The original idea is not from me, I did not invent it, but I wouldn't be able to tell you where to find the written instructions as I learnt how to fold it with my mother-in-law, who learnt it in a craft-group...
Anyway, I hope the videos will be enough to teach you how to do this lovely box. However, if you think that more detailed explanations are needed, please do let me know.
You need 16 square sheets of paper (80g/m³ is the best, under isn't ideal), 8 for the lid, 8 for the bottom. Both sides of the sheets are visible, so I tend to prefer using sheets which are coloured on both sides. You can easily find origami paper online or in your local craft-shop. The ones I use are 10x10cm.

Now it is your turn to give it a go. I would love to see your boxes afterwards, to leave me a comment with a link to your blog, or simply send me some pictures by email if you don't have a blog!
Last year I left a comment on a blog and that was the beginning of many exchanges both via email and via mail and the set off of a friendship. I have already posted about a swap which I made with Steph from École et Bricoles, but since then she has been sending me several patterns and I definitely wanted to thank her and give her a little present. So here is what I sent her:
A book about the beautiful castles of our region, the pictures inside are very nice. The book is in German but it can be found as a Pdf in french and in english there (on the right side).
I added a very special pin-cushion:
(There will be another post soon about the pin-cushion!)
And a rainbow-box:
I learnt how to make this origami box with my mother-in-law. I always thought origami was difficult and complicated, but actually when you see it step by step it really isn't! I will soon try to post a video on how to make the box for those who might be interested.
Now I received an email from Steph today, the parcel arrived and she enjoyed her presents, so I am happy ^^. I am trying to prepare another swap-parcel to send next week, but sssshhhh! I won't tell what will be in there yet ;)
